Emissions Testing

If your vehicle is a 2000 model or newer, you’ll need to test its emissions every year when the registration is due. An emissions test will confirm that all the systems that regulate pollutants leaving your car are working correctly. This test will also ensure the car is regulating the emissions within the acceptable limit for your region. The test only takes about 15-20 minutes and is a simple pass/fail. If you pass, you can use your certificate to register your vehicle. But, if you fail, it’s not the end of the road. You just need to repair what is causing the excess emissions and then test again. Lucky for you, we do that too — and the retest is free with the repairs!

Argonaut Garage is a test and repair station (for model year 2000 and newer), so we are happy to handle both services for you. If you tested somewhere else, we can still handle your repairs. It can be helpful if you bring your previous vehicle emissions inspection report to help point us in the right direction a little faster, but our expert mechanics have plenty of experience and will be fine without it as well. We’ll get your emissions system working as it should for your next test.
